Many folks back home are scratching their heads and wondering what computer screw-up allow Kei, whose grades were mediocre at best, to be selected. |

Madison ThomasMadison has been friends with Kei since junior high. It was her idea that they apply for the tutor position, and with her excellent grades, she seemed like prefect candidate. Her shock when Kei got the position couldn't have been bigger. |

Adara EscamaruileAdara owns the only bar in Ostand, the tiny European village where the Kishiwada Institute is located. The village is so tiny that the only place available for Kei to live is in the attic of the Bar. Adara is famous for both her beauty and for holding a never ending stream of suitors at arm's length. It's rumored that she even turned down a proposal from a prince of the royal family. |

Gerda EscamaruileGerda is Adara's mother, and often meddles in her daughters affairs. |

PiaPia works as a waitress and bouncer in Adara's bar. Except for being mute, and having a really bad attitude toward men, nothing much is known about Pia. |

BettBett also works as a waitress in Adara's bar. Unlike Pia, she is a shameless flirt and always seems to have a date waiting when she gets off work. Bett and Gerda continually plots to get her boss hooked up with someone. |

Professor KishiwadaFounder of the Kishiwada Institute. In addition to conducting research on a top secret project, the institute serves as as boarding school of sorts for the children of the reseachers and workers. Professor Kishiwada is always extremely busy with research and is almost never seen. |

Toshiko NakadaAdministrator of the Kishiwada Institute. Toshiko is in charge of the day to day operations of the institute, and serves as Kei's advisor. |

Sten CullingsSten is the head instructor of the boarding school, and is Kei's boss. If he seems haughty and arrogant, it is only because he has impeccable breeding, superb education and manners, and good looks. Sten is quite the lady's man. |
